BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 14. Iran’s domestic truck and trailer manufacturing increased by 69.3 percent, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Trend reports.
In 5 months, 16,627 trucks and trailers were manufactured in Iran, while the figure stood at 9,820 in the same period last Iranian year, according to the report of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade.
Alone in the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2023), Iran manufactured 2,821 local trucks and trailers. This is an increase of 35.5 percent compared with 2,081 units in the same month last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, in the first 4 months of the current Iranian year, Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production was 13,713 units.
It should be noted that the final figure for the 5th month includes 93 trucks with various defects (including missing parts), while they are not counted in statistics for the 4 months.
Overall, 34,136 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
Iran’s domestic truck and trailer production increased by 150 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In general, 536,903 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran for the first five months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 27 percent compared with the same time last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
