BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 28. Non-oil exports from Iran’s Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) rose by 12 percent in value and 49 percent in volume in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period of the previous year, supervisor for the province customs office Amir Jamshidi said, Trend reports.
Jamshidi noted that the province exported more than $258 million worth of non-oil goods, weighing about 1.3 million tons, in 10 months.
He added that the province exported 286 kinds of products, among which the top 5 were: milk and dairy products ($97 million), cement ($31 million), rubber materials ($27 million), citrus fruits ($20 million), and various food products ($14 million).
The official also said that the province’s products reached 49 countries in 10 months, with the main destinations being Iraq ($119 million), Russia ($61 million), Turkmenistan ($13 million), Kazakhstan ($11 million), and UAE ($8 million).
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
