BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 26. Iran’s non-oil trade turnover via Jolfa border terminal in East Azerbaijan Province, in the northwest of Iran, reached 1.92 million tons in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), Director General of East-Azerbaijan Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization Orujali Alizadeh, said, Trend reports.
The director general noted that export and import made up about 1.14 million tons of the non-oil trade during that time.
Alizadeh also stressed that more than 780,000 tons of cargo transited through this terminal during eleven months.
The administration official added that 105,200 trucks carried the products, and 63,600 of them were from different countries, while 41,500 were from Iran.
To note, the Jolfa border terminal is located on the border with Iran and Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Overall, Iran's non-oil trade with the rest of the world was $94.8 billion in the first 10 months of this year, equivalent to approximately 146 million tons of commodities.
