Azerbaijan`s Taxes Ministry Announced Competition on Filling of Vacancies

Azerbaijan`s Taxes Ministry has announced a reception of the documents to take part in the competition on the filling of the vacant seats in the tax bodies. During the today`s press-conference, Faig Shakhbazov, Azerbaijan Taxes Ministry`s Staff Policy and Retraining Department told that today there are about 40 vacant seats in the tax bodies of the country, Trend report. These vacancies are the results of the recent dismissals. According to the Tax Minister, the current number of the vacant seat is likely to reach 45 in November 2006.

All interested candidates are invited to apply the Tax Ministry from September 20 till October 11, 2006. The first stage (November 26, 2006) envisages the holding of the tests by the State Students Admission Committee. All those who can pass the first stage are allowed to the second one. The second stage (December 4-8, 2006) envisages the check of the candidates by the Competition Committee being formed by the tax Ministry. In contradistinction of the last year`s competition (1300 questions) this year`s one envisages 2500 questions.

According to Mr. Shahbazov, the documents will be received within 15 days, and within a month will be checked by the Staff Department of the Tax MinistryThe Ministry`s Special Commission for Admission to Work consisting of 11 persons will conduct probation tests

The first competition on admission to the work in the tax bodies were held last year. Then the list of those who wanted to take part in the competition (the total number was 500) was reduced on 55 because of the mismatch in the age, specialty, and the lack of higher education. 60 other persons gave up on vague reasons. As a result of all that 392 persons were chosen to pass the test. 345 persons out of this number took part at the tests. And only 120 persons successfully passed the tests, the candidacies of 76 has confirmed to the date. 65 persons out of them have already been employed. The other ones have remained in the reserves, since the vacant seat were in the regions, and that did not satisfy those who passed all the stages of the competition.

Mr. Shakhbazov pointed out that taking into account these problems, corresponding alteration have been moved to the rules of the admission to the work. Each candidate has obtained the right to point out the district, town, or city he or she would like to work.

The second innovation is that there is a possibility that those candidates which work will not satisfy the requirements of the duties as their work will be relived from the tax bodies in the future. That will be possible in case of the invalidity of the diploma, or if the Education Ministry does not accept the diploma of the institution of higher education where the candidate obtained his or her education. They will also pay their attention to the presence of previous convictions, the family of the candidate. If necessary, the Tax Ministry may obtain all necessary information from the Interior and national Security Ministries of the country. The successful candidates must have economic and legal education. However, the taxes services show their interests to those who have technological education as well.

The third innovation is the documents of those participants of the competition who were not admitted will be abolished within a month. The candidates who passed all the stages will be to pass trainings in the Education Centre of the Tax Ministry within two months and a half.
