(news.techwhack.com) - Apple Computer has announced the launch of their Core 2 Duo processor powered MacBooks. These new notebooks promise faster performance as they uses a new generation of Intel processors.

Dave Moody, Apple's vice president of worldwide Mac product marketing spoke during the launch ceremony: We have a whole new line of MacBooks. The new feature is the Core 2 Duo [processor]. We now have Core 2 Duo across our entire [portable] product line.

The company has already launched Core 2 Duo powered MacBook Pro notebooks. The processor speeds in these new notebooks has not changed. However, the change in the architecture of the processors ensures that these newer notebooks are faster than the first generation ones, reports Trend.

Apple Computer has also doubled the standard RAM in its mid-range and top-end MacBooks, which sell for $1,299 and $1,499 respectively. Of course these products come with the usual goodies including built-in iSight cameras, the MagSafe power adaptor, and iLife 06.
