SOCAR’s JV Completing Research Ordered by Foreign Company
Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 June / Trend corr S. Aliyev/ Azerbaijani-Dutch joint venture AzeriFugro will complete the laboratory research of soil, which was received during the work in Kazakhstan's sector of the Caspian Sea and was ordered by Agip KCO company, in August.
The offshore work will be carried out nearby Atirau city. The company researched engineering peculiarities of soil, as well as geotechnics intended for laying a pipeline from an artificial island to the continent.
A part of the work on the project was implemented in 2006-2007. Geotechnical wells were drilled from a Kazakhstan-owned barge. Two wells, with the depth up to 300m, and four, at the depth of some 150m, were drilled during the work.
