Georgia joins EU Sustainable Energy Week

EU Sustainable Energy Week 2011 will take place from 11 to 15 April, 2011, with more than 100 various events in Brussels and other major cities across Europe. The event is organized by the European Commission's Directorate General for Energy, the European Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, the European Institutions, major energy actors and private companies.
Georgia joins EU Sustainable Energy Week

EU Sustainable Energy Week 2011 will take place from 11 to 15 April, 2011, with more than 100 various events in Brussels and other major cities across Europe. The event is organized by the European Commission's Directorate General for Energy, the European Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, the European Institutions, major energy actors and private
companies.

The campaign is aimed to promote the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and in this way remind the public-at-large on the renewable energy and energy efficiency potential of global and local environmental mitigation, as well as the alleviation of social and economic problems.

The union "Energy Efficiency Center Georgia" and Tbilisi City Hall has decided to join the Euro Commission initiative and participate in the EU Sustainable Energy Week by organizing Sustainable Energy Week in Georgia.

As a part of the week , there will be held thematic exhibitions, conferences, seminars, practical lessons in schools and lectures at universities, radio and television broadcasts, contests, presentations by journalists and architects, working meetings in the Georgian Parliament and a "green march" of cyclists and skateboarders in the center of Tbilisi.

An EU delegation, representatives of the diplomatic corps, international and non-governmental organizations and academia, business organizations and industry associations, as well as students, will take part in the events. Tbilisi residents will also be actively involved in the week.
