SOCAR terminal sends more than 190 thousand tons of oil cargo in January

The Kulevi oil terminal belonging to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) received 250,000 tons of crude oil and petroleum products and sent 191,000 tons in January, SOCAR said on Monday.

Company information stated that the terminal received about 3.36 million tons of oil cargo and sent more than 3.34 million tons in 2011.

The Kulevi oil terminal which was launched in summer 2008, sent 3.6 million tons of oil in 2010, an increase of 56 per cent compared to 2009. Its total capacity is 10 million tons of oil per year, broken down to three million tons of oil, three million tons of diesel fuel and four million tons of fuel oil. The tank farm's total volume is 320,000 cubic metres with the possibility of increasing to 380,000 cubic metres.

Loading productivity ranges from 1000 to 8000 cubic metres per hour. The rail station which can simultaneously accommodate up to 180 wagons awaiting discharge of cargo, also serves the port. The railway trestle can simultaneously unload 168 wagons.
