In January-October 2017, 22.595 million tons of oil was transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline compared to 24.4 million tons in the same period of 2016, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR said in a message posted on its website Nov. 13.
In October 2017, 545,990 tons of Turkmen oil was transported via the BTC pipeline, as compared to 263,870 tons in October 2016.
In total, 344.13 million tons of oil was transported via the BTC pipeline since the beginning of its operation.
In January-October 2017, almost 21.04 million tons of oil was sent from the Turkish port of Ceyhan to the world markets, as compared to 24.63 million tons in the same period of 2016.
Meanwhile, 14.75 million tons of the January-October 2017 amount accounted for the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ).
Overall, 340.87 million tons of Azerbaijani oil was sent from Ceyhan to the world markets since the beginning of operation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
Shareholders of the BTC pipeline are: BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), TPAO (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), CIECO (2.5 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).
