US reveals volume of petroleum import from OPEC

The volume of petroleum import of the US from OPEC countries averaged 3.469 million barrels per day (mb/d) as of the first nine months of 2017, compared to averagely 3.441 mb/d in the same period in 2016, according to the Monthly Energy Review of the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The average volume of petroleum import of the country from OPEC stood at 2.821 mb/d in the first nine months of 2015, said the report.

The US imported 3.793 million barrels of oil per day from OPEC countries in January, 3.445 mb/d in February, 3.592 mb/d in March, 3.737 mb/d in April, 3.644 mb/d in May, 3.537 mb/d in June, 3.399 mb/d in July, 3.181 mb/d in August and 2.880 mb/d in September, in according to the EIA.

This is while the volume of petroleum import from non-OPEC countries stood at 6.701 million barrels per day in first nine months of 2017, as compared to 6.658 million barrels per day in the same period in 2016.
