Specialists of Turkmenistan's Altyn Asyr CJSC have commissioned solar-powered stations in the desert areas of Turkmenistan, Trend reports via the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The receiving and transmitting equipment with solar batteries, which provides cellular communication to residents of several settlements, was installed in the Ahal province.
In addition, communication specialists have completed a cycle of installation and commissioning of base stations and antenna mast structures of 2G and 3G standards in 12 villages of Dashoguz and Balkan provinces.
This year, about 90 settlements were connected to the 2G and 3G standard mobile communication system in rural areas in all provinces.
Based on the LTD technologies, the 4G cellular network is expanding in the country. In the near future, it is planned to place such stations in all regional centers and in remote areas of Turkmenistan, the message says.
