Iran discloses funds saved by Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex

Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex situated in Mahshahr county of Iran’s south-western Khuzestan province saved up to 1.4 trillion rials ($33.3 million) from the beginning of last Iranian year (began on March 21, 2018) up till now, Executive Director of the company Hamidreza Rustami said.

“The funds were spent on import of equipment and spare parts,” the executive director said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

Rustami added that wasting of funds was prevented by the company.

The Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex produces the chemical products, namely, caustic soda, vinyl chloride, ethylene dichloride, methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), hydrochloric acid, salt, gas products, ethane, propane, butane (LPG), pentane, ethylene, olefin, polymer products, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), aromatic products, benzene, mixed xylene and paraxylene.

The US has imposed sanctions on Iran since November 2018. These sanctions have greatly affected Iran's economy.
