Production volume at Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz gas condensate field to increase in 2021

The volume of production at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is expected to reach 21.3 billion cubic meters of gas in 2021, Trend reports referring to the conclusion of the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan related to the draft budget of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) for 2021.

The volume of production from the field was predicted to reach 18.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2020. This figure reached 16.8 billion cubic meters of gas in 2019.

“At the same time, 32.5 million barrels of condensate are expected to be produced from the field in 2021,” the message said. “This figure was projected at 29.2 million barrels in 2020 while in 2019 it amounted to 28.6 million barrels.”

Some 33.7 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in Azerbaijan during the first 11 months of 2020.

This indicator increased by 4.7 percent or 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Some 10.7 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the ACG block of fields while 16.3 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz.

During the reporting period, 6.7 billion cubic meters of gas accounted for SOCAR.
