ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 20. The Turkmenhimiya State Concern and the Japanese Kawasaki Heavy Industries corporation signed two contracts during the visit of the Turkmenistan's economic delegation to Japan, Trend reports.
The contracts are aimed at the implementation of projects for the maintenance of the world's first gasoline production plant from natural gas in the Ahal region of Turkmenistan.
According to the parties, this step will strengthen Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the energy sector and bring mutual benefits to both countries.
During the visit, a meeting of the aviation departments of Turkmenistan and Japan was also held, at which issues related to the establishment of direct flights between the countries were discussed.
In total, during the visit, the delegation of Turkmenistan held 14 meetings and signed three documents, which underlines the high level of interest and willingness to cooperate on both sides.
Meanwhile, at the end of September this year, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a meeting with the senior adviser on strategic issues of the Japanese Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. company, Tatsuya Watanabe.
Berdimuhamedov stated that Turkmenistan is ready to consider proposals for the implementation of new projects in the field of chemical and oil and gas industry development, in particular, to increase the production of phosphorus, ammonia, carbamide and gasoline from natural gas.
