ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 1. Turkmenistan has the lowest gasoline prices among Central Asian countries as of April 29, 2024, Trend reports.
According to the Global Petrol Prices (GPP) webpage, gasoline in
Turkmenistan costs $0.42 per liter.
In the Central Asian countries ranking, Turkmenistan is followed by
Kazakhstan ($0.55 per liter), Kyrgyzstan ($0.81 per liter), and
Uzbekistan ($1.09 per liter).
Tajikistan was not included in the report, although government data
show that the country's average retail gasoline price is 0.99 per
liter.
Furthermore, the rating data suggest that Turkmenistan is ranked
seventh in the world for fuel affordability.
For worldwide comparison, Iran has the world's lowest gasoline
price ($0.02 per liter), while Hong Kong has the highest ($3.2 per
liter).
Meanwhile, gasoline prices vary among countries due to the application of different fuel taxes and subsidies.
While all countries purchase oil at comparable international market prices, the varying taxation policies result in differing retail prices for gasoline.
