A frontal and detail engineering are expected to be completed in the Baku Oil Refinery Plant named after Heydar Aliyev till the middle of 2007. Till the end of the next year, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan), the holder of the plant is about to announce a tender
on selection of a company- contractor on the project of the construction of the new plants - Alkylene and Oxypro, Rovnag Abdullayev, SOCAR President told Trend. The closing date of the construction works is about two years.
The implementation of the project will allow reaching the quality of the national petrol to the European standards (Euro-3) and carrying out its export to European countries.
Earlier, the American company UOP Limited signed a contract with SOCAR on designing a new complex on producing of high-octane petrol.
The plant Alkylene is the World`s first commercial sample on practical using of the technology of the motor fuel alkylation (a UOP new invention), where solid catalysts are used instead of liquid acid for alkylation C4 olefine with isobutane. The plant Alkylene will produce alkylit of motor fuel (300.000 tons per year), and Oxypro (components of high-octane petrol (DIPE), used to produce ecologically clean petrol 130.000 tons a year.
