Wartsila, AzerEnerji Probable to Sign Contract on Construction of 300 MW Multi-Fuel Power Plant in Oct

AzerEnerji, the national energy company of Azerbaijan, and Wärtsilä, Finnish Company, are in the process of finalizing a new contract for a 300 MW multi-fuel power plant to be located in Sangachal, 50 km south of the capital Baku. This new plant will consist of eighteen Wärtsilä 50DF generating sets. The signing of the final contract is expected to take place within October, Trend reports.

In 2005 AzerEnerji ordered five power plants, totaling 450 MW. The first two have already been taken into commercial operation and the remaining three plants are scheduled to be commissioned before the end of this year.

In 2005 Wärtsilä delivered all together 1,607 MW of Power plants. The net sales of the Power Plants business were EUR 710.3 million in 2005.
