The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends, in the first quarter of next year, to install a new platform in the south part of West Apsheron, Trend reports with reference to SOCAR. The platform will be installed at a depth of 12-15 meters.
This platform will be installed in three gas wells which were drilled earlier. The oriented debt of these wells equals 250,000 cu.m of gas per day. This will allow transferring to the new method of production, with gaslift method, as well as providing gas for domestic needs.
In the future, it is expected to construct a platform for exploitation of the wells drilled in this part of the field with the drilling installation Khazar-4. Presently it has already been decided that 12 wells instead of the intended 6 wells will be drilled with this platform in the new drilling area. It is justified by the fact that the exploration drilling showed great oil saturation and a capacity of layers. The daily average debt equals nearly 10 tons.
Earlier, six wells had been drilled with Khazar-4 in one section of this field. It is also intended to install a platform in this section. The assessment of the reserves revealed the possibly that there are more than 10 mln tons of oil.
