In June 2019, the public debt of Georgia increased by 658 million lari and amounted to 19.8 billion lari, Trend reports with reference to commercant.ge.
External debt in dollars increased by $71 million. In June, internal debt increased by 98 million lari.
As of June, the external public debt reached 15.6 billion lari, and the internal public debt amounted to 4.2 billion lari.
Seventy percent of Georgia’s external debt falls on international organizations. The largest amount of debt (5.5 billion lari) is to the World Bank. As for the countries, Georgia has the biggest debt (910 million lari) to Germany, and the debt of Georgia to France amounted to 691 million lari.
Georgia’s public debt is about 45 percent of GDP.
