Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Akbar Komijani held talks with Australian Ambassador to Tehran Iran Ian Biggs on development of banking and trade cooperation, Trend reports via Mehr news agency.
Referring to the financial and banking ties as the first step for developing business relations, Komijani said that Iran and Australia have economic capacities and banking and business relations, and emphasized the cooperation of two countries in various fields.
Ian Biggs, for his part, said that financial relations between the two countries aren’t yet on the required level, and it is necessary to increase the volume of trade between Iran and Australia.
It was reported that meetings are scheduled to be held between the heads of the central banks, the ministers of economy, industry and agriculture of the two countries to find ways to use financial channels within the framework of international law and regulations as well as to develop economic relations.
