Retail turnover of yarn products in Azerbaijan reaches 5B manat

From January through September 2019, the total value of footwear, clothing, yarn and leather goods produced in Azerbaijan amounted to 297.8 million manat ($175.538 million), which is 39.2 percent more than in the same period of the previous year, Trend reports referring to the country's State Statistics Committee.

The production of clothing increased by 10.6 percent, while the production of leather goods and footwear and the production of yarn decreased by 25.2 percent from January through September 2019.

In the reporting period, the retail turnover of yarn products, clothing and footwear reached 4.988 billion manat ($2.94 billion), having increased by 3.3 percent for the year. The consumers spent about 18.1 percent of money on clothes and shoes.

The prices for clothes increased by 0.1 percent, the prices for footwear decreased by 0.2 percent and the prices for fabrics remained unchanged in September compared to August 2019. The prices for these products increased by 0.9 percent, 1.7 percent and 4 percent for the year, respectively.
