The number of bank cards in Azerbaijan in 2021 grew, Trend reports citing the Central Bank (CBA).
According to the CBA, this figure reached 11.5 million, up by 20 percent compared to 2020 (9.2 million).
The largest number of the cards fell on debit cards (10.1 million), including social - 3.46 million, salary - about 2.67 million, and other card products - 3.94 million.
At the same time, the number of ATMs operating last year amounted to 2,970, of which 1,585 are in Baku, and 1,385 - in other cities and districts of Azerbaijan.
The number of ATMs in the reporting year rose by 204 units (6.9 percent) year on year.
The number of POS terminals in the country reached 61,178, of which 40,672 were installed in Baku, while the rest 20,506 - in other cities and districts. Their number increased by 4,098, or 6.7 percent on annual basis.
