BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The value of foreign assets of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), other Iranian banks and financial institutions amounted to 20.8 quadrillion rials (about $494 billion) in total at the end of the 11th month of the last Iranian year (February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, this is an increase of 37.2 percent compared to the same period preceding the Iranian year. So, the figure was 15.1 quadrillion rials (about $360 billion) in the same period preceding the Iranian year.

“So, the value of foreign assets of the CBI amounted to 6.92 quadrillion rials (about $164 billion) at the end of 11th month, which is an increase of 17.1 percent, compared to the same period preceding Iranian year. So, the figure stood at 5.91 quadrillion rials (about $141 billion) in the same period preceding the Iranian year,” the statistics said.

In addition, the value of foreign assets of other banks and financial institutions in Iran for the reporting period amounted to 13.8 quadrillion rials (about $329 billion), which is an increase of 50 percent, compared to the same period preceding the Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in the same period preceding the Iranian year, this figure was 9.22 quadrillion rials (about $219 billion), the statistics said.
