BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. A total of 5.6 million transfers worth 59.3 trillion tenge ($136.6 billion) were made via services of Kazakhstan National Bank's payment systems in March 2022, Trend reports with reference to the data of the bank.
This is 2.3 percent less in volume and 5.4 percent more in value compared to February 2022. On average, 292,300 transactions worth 3.1 trillion tenge ($7.1 billion) were carried out daily.
The volume of plastic cards issued in Kazakhstan amounted to 57.7 million cards as of April 1, 2022, and 50.9 percent of them were used in March 2022.
The volume of transactions via plastic cards of Kazakh issuers amounted to 680.9 million transactions worth 9.9 trillion tenge ($22.8 billion) in March 2022, which means an increase of 13.4 percent in volume and by 16.6 percent in value, compared to February 2022.
The share of non-cash payments made via cards of Kazakh issuers amounted to 96.8 percent (658.9 million transactions) of the total non-cash transactions carried out. The share of non-cash transactions value stood at 91.3 percent (8 trillion tenge or $18.4 billion).
Furthermore, the total volume of funds sent via international systems of money transfers amounted to 0.23 million transfers worth 88.9 billion ($204.8 million) in March 2022, which is 28.1 percent more in value compared to February 2022.
Out of the total volume of transfers, 72.4 percent of total volume or 91.2 percent of total value (81.1 billion tenge or $186.8 million) accounted for transfers from Kazakhstan to other countries.
Some 27.6 percent of total volume (0.06 million) and 8.8 percent of total value (7.8 billion tenge or $17.9 million) accounted for transfers in Kazakhstan.
The remaining 0.1 million transfers worth 25.6 billion tenge ($58.9 million) accounted for transfers from other countries to Kazakhstan.
