BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. This week it became known that the current size of active loan portfolio of European Investment Bank (EIB) in Azerbaijan is 26.2 million euros, Trend reports.
EIB provided a loan of 25 million euros to support small and medium-sized enterprises in Azerbaijan, which was provided through Access Bank.
In addition, it was reported that the EIB is ready to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan on various projects in both the public and private sectors.
This week, it became also known that the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association is working on legislation in the sphere of microfinance together with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the information, non-bank credit organizations (NBCOs) are closely cooperating with CBA at the association level, as key leaders in the microfinance sector, to discuss the development of a microfinance strategy and the need to improve the legislative framework.
