President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting gave instructions to study the issue of launching the second national artificial satellite, the Turkmen government said in a message.
The Turkmen president said that the second satellite should be placed in low Earth orbit.
It was earlier reported that preparation of technical requirements for creating another national satellite, which is expected to carry out remote sensing of the Earth, has already been completed.
Turkmenistan’s first national artificial satellite TurkmenAlem 52°E/MonacoSAT was launched in 2015 from Cape Canaveral, the US.
