In January-August 2018, 512,384 mobile phones and other mobile devices operating in wireless networks, worth over $50.4 million have been imported to Azerbaijan, the State Statistics Committee told Trend Oct. 15.
The committee noted that over the eight months of 2018, the number of mobile phones imported into the country has increased by 16 percent compared to January-August last year (during this period, 441,578 mobile devices were imported into the country). In value terms, this figure has also increased by 29.4 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, on average, over 64,000 mobile devices have been imported monthly into the country.
The monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms has exceeded $6.3 million.
