Rostelecom increases capacity of Uzbektelecom's access to Russian segment of Internet

In 2020, Rostelecom carried out work to increase the capacity of access to the Russian segment of the Internet in the interests of Uzbektelecom joint-stock company, Rostelecom public joint-stock company (PJSC) told Trend.

Rostelecom noted that new client services were organized in Moscow / Puerto Plata Frankfurt - Tashkent direction, including using L2 VPN (Virtual Private Network) technology in 2020 in the interests of PJSC Rostelecom clients.

In addition, new plans for upgrading Internet access and new transit projects are currently being discussed in the interests of Uzbektelecom and Rostelecom PJSC with the aim of cooperation in the provision of Internet access services and the organization of international transit channels in Uzbekistan.

According to the information, the growth of Internet traffic in Uzbekistan increased in 2020, as in other CIS countries, due to the pandemic and the transition of the population of Uzbekistan to a remote mode of work and study.

Rostelecom PJSC is the largest integrated provider of digital services and solutions in Russia, which is present in all market segments and covers millions of households, public and private organizations.

The company occupies a leading position in the market of high-speed Internet access and Pay TV services. The number of broadband access subscribers exceeds 13.4 million, Rostelecom's Pay-TV subscribers - 10.7 million, of which more than 5.9 million are connected to the Interactive TV service.

Rostelecom's subsidiary operator Tele2 Russia is a major player in the mobile communications market, serving more than 44 million subscribers and leading in the NPS (Net Promoter Score) index - the willingness of users to recommend the company's services.

Uzbektelecom JSC is the largest telecommunication operator in Uzbekistan, covering the entire territory of the republic. The company provides channel rental services to operators and providers of fixed and mobile communications, international and intercity communications, provides all types of voice and data services, Internet access, video conferencing, mobile and fixed communications in CDMA-450 and GSM standards, and organizes channels for transmission of television and radio broadcasting programs.
