The most cyberattacked spheres were education and e-commerce in the fourth quarter of 2021, Russian Qrator Labs company told Trend.

According to the company, the number of attacks on the above segments grew by 12.29 and 10.21 percent, respectively.

The company’s Founder and CEO Alexander Lyamin said that from October through December of last year, the users continued to study remotely, and the number of online orders for goods broke all records.

“Therefore, the attackers have focused their attention on these most profitable market segments,” Lyamin also noted.

He added that the promo segment, which accounted for 24 percent of all attacks, is dominated by various website builder platforms, and growth in this segment is quite logical.

“The overwhelming majority of small businesses, being the main users of these services, are also moving to an online format and are followed by ‘denial-of-service’ attacks,” the CEO further said.

In the third quarter, 22.28 percent of total cyberattacks accounted for banks, the main target of attacks, whilst now this indicator lowered to five percent, concluded Lyamin.

Qrator Labs has its traffic processing centers in the US, Russia, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
