Number of Israeli tourists visiting Turkey up by almost 60 percent in June 2019

Some 50,700 tourists from Israel visited Turkey in June 2019, which is 58.29 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, Trend reports referring to Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

"The share of Israeli citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey during this period was 0.95 percent," the ministry said.

It was noted that 215,400 tourists from Israel visited Turkey in January-June 2019, which is 25.51 percent more compared to the same period in 2018. "The share of Israeli citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey over January-June 2019 was 1.19 percent," the ministry said.

Some 5.318 million tourists visited Turkey in June 2019, which is 18.05 percent more compared to June 2018.

During the reporting period, over 1.3 million tourists visited Istanbul, while 2.2 million tourists visited Antalya.

According to the ministry, in January-June 2019, 18.076 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 13.20 percent more compared to January-June 2018.
