Some 43.3 million tons of cargo were transported via vehicles in Azerbaijan from January through May 2021 or 56.1 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation, Trend reports on June 16 citing the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
According to the State Statistics Committee, cargo transportation via vehicles decreased by 8.3 percent from January through May 2021 compared to the same period of 2020.
At the same time, cargo transportation via vehicles in the private sector decreased by 5.9 percent. Some 77.2 percent of all cargo transportation via vehicles accounted for the private sector from January through May 2021.
Some 445.6 million people were transported via vehicles from January through May 2021, which is 18 percent less than in the same period of last year.
Some 99.7 percent of passengers were transported by buses during the reporting period, metro - 0.1 percent, taxis and other private carriers - 0.2 percent.
Some 77.2 million tons of cargo were transported by all modes of transport in Azerbaijan from January through May 2021, which is almost five percent less than in the same period of last year, while 445.6 million people were transported, which is 18 percent less than January through May 2020.
