BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), decreased by 6.7 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, more than 166,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 8th month. Of this, over 146,000 tons were loaded and 19,900 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, 117,000 tons of cargo were exported and 8,090 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.

Within the 8th month, 964 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,050 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

At the same time, 27,400 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage. As well as, 454 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,760 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 8th month.

“Some 45,200 tons of essential products, 23,100 tons of metal products, about 50,200 tons of construction and mining materials, and 5,410 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 12 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 6,840 tons of container products and 35,300 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
