BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. A new project has been launched in Azerbaijan within the framework of the European Investment Bank and the European Union's Eastern Partnership Investments in Connectivity (EPIC) program, Trend reports.
The data from the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan shows that the project will apply the best practices of the European Union in the field of railroads as well as establish cooperation in the direction of adapting railroad lines and crossings to the most modern standards.
In addition, it is expected that the project will contribute to increasing the transit potential of Azerbaijan and ensuring wider use of the Middle Corridor.
It should be noted that this project covering the railway sector is the first project to be implemented in Azerbaijan under the EPIC program.
