BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 9. Five major projects worth 12 billion Kazakh tenge ($245.1 million) will be implemented in Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region in 2023, Nazarbek Konkabayev, the Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial and Innovative Development, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

The forecasts indicate that the number of workplaces created will be around 1,000.

According to Konkabayev, one of the most relevant projects for the industrial development of the region is the Chevrolet Onix automobile production plant. The overall costs associated with implementing the project are estimated to be around 23 billion Kazakh tenge ($50.3 million). Some 400 employers will manufacture 30,000 cars per annum upon the completion of the project.

Another important project is the production of “Belarus” tractors. The volume of investments in the project exceeds 83 million Kazakh tenge (around $181,700). Around 100 people will be employed at the production once the plant is commissioned.

Finally, “Technopark KZ” LLP will produce commercial equipment with an output of 600 units per annum. The overall cost of the project, which will create 180 workplaces, is estimated to be around 2.9 billion Kazakh tenge ($6.3 million).
