ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 22. The Kostanay region of Kazakhstan will receive an additional 11,000 tons of cheaper fuel for grain drying, its cost will not exceed 250 tenge (about $0.52) per liter, said the Minister of Agriculture Aydarbek Saparov, Trend reports.
The region's fields have been damaged by heavy rains this year. Due to unfavorable weather, the quality of the grain of the new harvest has deteriorated. In the region, the main volume is made up of non-grade wheat.
"There is an order from the head of state. The government supported the proposed mitigation measures. On the part of National Managing Holding Baiterek, the issue of prolongation of loans without the application of penalties has been resolved. Work will be carried out to allocate additional funds to subsidize the agro-industrial complex. Kostanay region needs another 16.9 billion tenge (about $35 million)," he said.
The minister also commented on the issue of returning contracted grain to the Food Corporation.
"An analysis of the state of the grain market is currently underway. Based on its results, the Food Corporation will announce a fair price for the purchase of agricultural products. The company will ensure the formation of a seed fund and revise the schedule for the supply of cheaper grain for bread production," he noted.
In the Kostanay region this year, 4.3 million hectares were sown with grain according to operational data as of September 21, 32 зуксуте of the total sown area was harvested, 1.3 million tons of grain were threshed, and the average yield so far is 9.2 c/ha.
At the same time, the region exceeded its feed procurement plan. Farmers stocked up on 1.1 million tons of hay, 160,000 tons of haylage, and 30,000 tons of silage.
For the first time this year, farmers received 58,000 tons of preferential diesel fuel for feed procurement. Of these, 6,300 tons were sent to the Kostanay region.
