ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 7. Kazakhstan's Kazakhtelecom JSC will increase the number of 5G base stations in Kostanay, said commercial director at Kazakhtelecom Alexey Shmidt, Trend reports.
New-generation 5G mobile communications have been launched in the regional center, and today there are seven base stations operating in Kostanay.
The geographic coverage will steadily expand, opening up new chances for enterprises and transforming their job, as well as allowing local inhabitants to enjoy current services.
As a result, it is planned to link four additional 5G base stations before the end of the year.
"Now, in collaboration with akimat (executive power), and within the framework of the memorandum, we are considering the technical possibility of transferring Arkalyk residents from copper networks to fiber-optic communication lines." In general, this collaboration and contact will assist improve communication quality in the Kostanay region and build a modern and dependable telecommunications infrastructure," he stated.
Furthermore, the telecom operator is building a fiber optic network in Kostanay with GPON technology.
In August of this year, Kazakhtelecom JSC signed a memorandum under which the company, together with the regional akimat, will implement projects to develop telecommunications networks in the region.
As the Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Telecom, Kuanyshbek Yesekeyev, previously said, it is planned to deploy 782 base stations of 5G in Kazakhstan until the end of this year.
