ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 11. Positive dynamics are observed in the main macroeconomic indicators in Kazakhstan's Kostanay region based on the results of last year's Trend reports.

This was stated in the report of the head of the Kostanay region, Kumar Aksakalov.

In particular, the volume of the manufacturing industry increased by 11 percent, construction by 7 percent, investment in fixed capital by 8.5 percent, transport transportation by 3 percent, and housing commissioning by 5 percent.

As Aksakalov noted, in the structure of the gross regional product, the share of industry exceeded 30 percent.

The cost of the project is 23 billion tenge (about $50.7 million), and it is planned to create 400 new jobs.

At the same time, together with the Korean automaker KIA, construction of a plant has begun in the region, the investment volume of which amounts to 90 billion tenge (about $198 million). The project will ensure the production of 70,000 cars per year and create 1,500 new jobs.

In addition, it is planned to build a localization center for the production of automotive components worth 13 billion tenge (about $28.7 million).

Meanwhile, last year, the region began implementing 69 water supply projects totaling 21 billion tenge (about $46.4 million). To date, 37 projects have been fully implemented. As a result, the supply of water to the rural population has increased to 86.6 percent.
