ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 27. Kazakhstan is going to build a new gas pipeline from the Aktobe to Kostanay region, said Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, Trend reports.
He made a remark during a meeting on the topic of socio-economic development of the Kostanay region.
"A feasibility study for the project has already been developed and sent for examination. The Ministry of Energy together with QazaqGaz (Kazakhstan's national gas company) needs to speed up work in this direction. The regional executive power should work with investors to synchronize their projects, taking into account providing the region with additional volumes of gas," Smailov said.
In addition, the PM noted that this year it is planned to implement 13 industrial investment projects worth 127 billion tenge (about $281 million) in the region. In this regard, the Prime Minister demanded to ensure their high-quality launch and to work out the issue of expanding the industrial zone, taking into account the provision of appropriate infrastructure.
Concurrently, Smailov pointed out that in August last year the government approved comprehensive development plans for the Amangeldy and Zhangeldi districts, the single-industry towns of Arkalyk, Zhitikara and Lisakovsk. About 78 billion tenge (about $173 million) are allocated from the republican budget for their implementation.
