Kyrgyz General Prosecutor's Office has begun criminal proceedings against deputy minister of health on suspicion of getting a bribe, the General Prosecutor's Office said on Saturday.
"During the operational-investigation actions suspect was arrested in his office when returning to the applicant part of the previously received bribe amounting to 10,000 soms (about $250)", the General Prosecutor's Office said.
According to the General Prosecutor's Office, deputy minister of health received from the applicant in November, 2010 $4000 for favourable decision of issue on her appointment as head doctor of the Issyk Kul district dental clinic.
However to date he has not fulfilled his promise, and returned $2,300 of the above mentioned sum from August 2011 to November 2011 and the remainder was $1,700 as of 9 February.
"At present appropriate investigation actions into the criminal case are being conducted," the prosecutor's office said.
The General Prosecutor's Office gives only the initials of a senior official.
