Kyrgyzstan registers increase in communication devices imports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. Kyrgyzstan imported 6.2 million communication devices and parts related to them in 2022, which is an increase of 2.4 times over 2021 (2.6 million devices), Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The value of communication equipment imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $257 million last year, increasing from $157 million in 2021.

According to the statistics, the largest share of Kyrgyz communication equipment imports came from China - more than 5.9 million devices worth $186 million.

The second-largest supplier of communication equipment to Kyrgyzstan in 2022 was Vietnam. This type of exports from Vietnam to Kyrgyzstan amounted to 127,378 devices worth $26.6 million, which is a decrease of 35 percent from 2021 (197,525 devices worth $24 million).

And finally, the third-largest exporter of communication equipment to Kyrgyzstan in the reporting period became India. The country exported to Kyrgyzstan 124,597 of communication devices for $26.9 million, which is an increase of more than 4 times over 2021 (28,827 devices for $4 million).

Moreover, Kyrgyzstan imported 49,000 devices for $1 million from Russia, and 43,900 devices for $5 million from South Korea. Kazakhstan exported to Kyrgyzstan 25,624 devices worth $3 million, and the US – 2,873 devices for $608,200.
