BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 27. Government deposits in Kyrgyzstan's commercial banks have reached a total volume of 36.7 billion soms ($418.7 million) as of May 31, which is an increase of 52.7 percent compared to the end of December 2022, Trend reports.
According to the National Bank of the country, the deposits of legal entities reached 141.7 billion soms ($1.6 billion), showing a 5.3 percent increase since the beginning of the year.
Among other deposit categories, non-resident deposits rose 9.3 percent, totaling 54.2 billion soms ($618.3 million) as of May 31. Deposits from individuals showed steady growth as well, with an 8.4 percent increase, reaching 140.4 billion soms ($1.6 billion) by the end of May.
Additionally, deposits from other financial and credit organizations increased 69.9 percent, with a total volume amounting to 3.5 billion soms ($39.9 million).
Overall, the total volume of deposits in Kyrgyzstan's commercial banks amounted to 376.4 billion soms ($4.2 billion) as of May 31, which is an 11-percent increase since the beginning of 2022.
