BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 16. Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with China reached $5.443 billion in 2023, comprising 34.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee shows that China was Kyrgyzstan’s primary trading partner last year. The trade rose by 31.6 percent compared to 2022 ($4.130 billion).
Kyrgyzstan's exports to China increased by 32.3 percent in 2023, reaching $80.446 million, up from $60.800 million in 2022. This accounted for 2.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total exports.
Meanwhile, imports from China amounted to $5.353 billion last year, which is 31.6 percent more than $4.069 billion in 2022. This accounted for 43.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total imports.
In total, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $15.66 billion in 2023, which is 29.9 percent higher than in 2022. The country's exports reached $3.308 billion, increasing by 46.8 percent year-on-year. Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.352 billion, which is 26 percent higher than in 2022.
