BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27. Trade turnover betweenTajikistan and Uzbekistan increased from January through August 2022, Trend reports citing the State Committee of Uzbekistan on Statistics.
The value of Uzbekistan's trade with Tajikistan in the first 8 months of this year increased by 15.2 percent compared to the same period of last year ($357.1 million) - up to $411.4 million.
According to the committee, during the reporting period, Tajikistan ranked 11th among the main trading partners of Uzbekistan.
China became the main trading partner of Uzbekistan in the 8 months of 2022 with trade turnover - $6 billion, followed by Russia ($5.6 billion) and Kazakhstan ($2.8 billion).
As reported, the value of Uzbek imports of goods from Tajikistan from January through August 2022 amounted to $102.5 million, which is an increase of 60.4 percent over the same period in 2021 ($63.9 million).
Meanwhile, the export of goods and services from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan in this period increased by 5.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year ($293.2 million) - up to $308.8 million.
