DUSHANBE, Tajikistan. November 12. The trade turnover between the Sughd region of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan amounted to $602.1 million from January through October 2023, Trend reports.
This was announced during a meeting between the Chairman of the Sughd region, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, Valikhan Turekhanov.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that the business circles of the two countries are actively collaborating and implementing joint projects.
The chairman of the Sughd region expressed readiness to continue and strengthen this cooperation. He also shared insights into the prospects of cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, and investments.
In turn, the Ambassador said that Kazakh entrepreneurs and investors are prepared to propose projects under bilateral agreements to establish joint ventures and collaborate with their Tajik counterparts.
According to the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) data, Kazakhstan accounted for 22 percent of the total export volume from Tajikistan. Its share in Tajikistan's imports amounted to 14.8 percent from January through August 2023.
