Austria's business groups are interested in intensifying cooperation with Turkmenistan and implementation of joint projects, said Heidemaria Gurer, head of the department of Eastern Europe, Western Balkan, South Caucasus and Central Asia of Austria's Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
She made the remarks during a meeting in Ashgabat, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a message June 14.
The diplomat also noted the need to give an impetus to a more dynamic development of relations between the two countries, the search for new opportunities and areas of cooperation, especially in small and medium-sized businesses.
Cooperation with the EU countries is one of the priority areas in Turkmenistan's foreign policy, said the message.
It was previously reported that Austria is interested in purchasing of the Turkmen textile products. The country is also interested in partnership in the sphere of processing of agricultural and food products.
Construction, health and tourism are among the priority areas of cooperation. The two countries periodically hold business forums.
Turkmenistan is one of the most promising countries for Austria in the field of energy security, and the possibility to diversify the sources of raw materials' supply.
