BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Turkmenistan will prepare a roadmap for cooperation with the US for 2023-2024 in order to activate the partnership of the two states and a framework plan for organizing mutual visits of various levels, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
Proposals on the development of these documents and strengthening the contractual and legal framework of interstate relations were presented to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov at a working meeting held on May 1.
The head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported on the visit of the Turkmen delegation to Washington on April 23 through 24, during which a meeting was held with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and annual Turkmen-US political consultations were held.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to new forms of interaction, and the importance of business contacts in the field of digital technologies and innovative solutions was emphasized. Environmental protection issues were named among the priorities of bilateral cooperation, in light of the proposals put forward by the President of Turkmenistan at the 26th meeting of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in November 2021 in Glasgow (Scotland).
The members of the Turkmen delegation also held meetings with the Assistant Secretary of State for Energy, the Executive Director of the Turkmen-US Business Council, and members of this Council – heads of US companies, etc.
