ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 21. Turkmenistan held discussions on the development of its tourism potential with other Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) member countries, Trend reports.
Turkmenistan discussed this topic by videoconference on October 18 at a meeting of the CAREC national coordinators.
At the meeting, Turkmenistan was represented by the leadership of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the national coordinator of the CARES program, as well as a number of other ministries and departments of the country.
Furthermore, during the meeting, a constructive exchange of views took place on the key areas of activity of CARES, including the development of tourism, logistics, the creation of new transport corridors, climate change, etc.
The meeting provided information on the progress of the implementation of the CAREC strategy, including the work program for 2023, and the participants discussed the preparations for the 22nd Ministerial Conference to be held on November 30 in Tbilisi (Georgia).
One of the central items on the agenda was the financial support of the Asian Development Bank for the CAREC tourism development program.
Meanwhile, the CAREC tourism project is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), its completion is planned until 2024, and issues of tourism development until 2030 are currently being considered.
