ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 10. Turkmenistan increased tomato exports to foreign countries by 3 percent from January through March 2024, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

According to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the main importers of Turkmenistan's tomatoes are Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

At the same time, supplies to Kazakhstan showed particularly impressive dynamics; the volume of tomatoes shipped there increased by 20 percent in the first quarter of 2024.

The export of tomatoes from Turkmenistan to foreign countries has increased significantly over the past four years, which underlines the growing importance of the country in the regional agro-industrial market.

Meanwhile, Turkmen exporters sold 128,000 tons of tomatoes over the past year, which is 3.4 times more than in 2020.

Of Turkmenistan's total exports of tomatoes, 57 percent were exported to Russia and 28 percent to Kazakhstan.
