Uzbekistan eyes attracting Japanese companies for joint production of branded footwear

Uzbekistan to assist Japan in establishing contacts between Japanese companies and Uzbek partners and developing specific projects for the production of branded footwear, Trend reports citing Uzbek embassy in Japan.

According to the information, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan held negotiations with the president of Scotch Grain, Masakazu Hirokawa, head of Marquess, Shoji Kawaguchi and the founder of Yohei Fukuda in order to promote economic diplomacy and attract Japanese companies to implement joint projects for the production of branded footwear together with companies and members of the Association of leather-shoe and fur-fur enterprises of Uzbekistan (Uzcharmsanoat Association).

The heads of the Marquess and Yohei Fukuda companies expressed interest in establishing cooperation with the leather companies of Uzbekistan and considering the possibility of implementing joint projects, including the supply of Uzbek leather for the production of footwear.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached with the assistance of the Uzbek embassy in establishing contacts between Japanese companies and Uzbek partners and joint development of specific projects.
