BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Uzbek Uzavtosanoat and Chinese BYD Auto companies have signed an agreement on organizing the production of BYD cars in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Uzbek company.
The document provides for the organization in Uzbekistan the production of a full cycle (stamping, welding, painting, assembly) of BYD cars. It also includes a program for the localization of manufactured products - at subsequent stages, the production of engines, electric motors and batteries for cars will be organized later.
As part of the production start-up program, market research with trial sales of BYD vehicles will be conducted from the fourth quarter of this year. To do this, BYD Auto will adapt the cars for the local market, including the language of the infotainment system.
BYD Auto is a subsidiary of BYD Company Ltd, which was established in 1995. The company specializes in the production of sedans, including business class, crossovers, hybrid cars, electric cars and electric buses.
